Looks like winter has arrived, it’s beginning to look like Christmas. Hopefully we will have snow and not freezing rain this week.

Happy belated birthday to Melba Powell who celebrated her special day with her family at Swiss Chalet on Dec. 7.

The Pontiac Agricultural Society had a good turnout for their Tinsel and Tidings event last weekend. The votes were tallied and winners of the best trees were: Shawville 4-H in first place, Cartrites in second place and the Bristol Community Association in third place. Congratulations to all the participants. The money that was raised will be given to the Snowsuit Fund and Angel Tree charities.

This past Sunday, Dec. 8, marked the beginning of the second week of Advent. During the second week of Advent, we reflect on our lives and focus on becoming better versions of ourselves in preparation for Jesus coming.
