It’s confirmed!
The Shawville Arena will be buzzing with hockey fans this winter as its been confirmed that the Shawville Pontiac’s Senior A hockey team will play its inaugural season.
The announcement was made May 1 on the team’s Facebook page.
The Shawville Senior Pontiacs are now one of three teams to opt into the Outaouais Senior A Hockey League.
The other two teams who have confirmed they are joining are the Fort Coulonge Senior Comets and the Cornwall Prowlers.

The teams will each play eight home games and eight on the road during the regular season.
League organizer Nick St-Laurent said he hopes to enlist a few more teams before the start of the season. He pointed to one team in Thurso as a possibility, which would bring the league’s total to four teams.
St-Laurent also said that the plan is to host games on weekends in order to maximize attendance.
