Congratulations to Hailie and Alex Draper, as they welcomed their first child on Sept. 22. They had a baby girl named Lucia Grace, and she is just as sweet as can be. Best wishes to Hailie and Alex as they settle into their new roles as Mom and Dad.
The Quyon Lions Club have started booking times for the Car Rally, which is coming up on Oct. 25. This year’s theme is, fittingly, “Happy 150th Birthday, Quyon!” A lasagna supper will be served following the Rally at the Quyon Community Centre. To book your time for one of the best days of the year, you can contact Hollie Leach at 819-210-0588. I am already looking forward it.
Birthday wishes are going out to Fletcher Schwartz, Charlene Aubertin, and Shelly Campbell, all celebrating on Oct. 2. Happy Birthday to Sharon Hobbs on the 3rd, and to Joan Foran on the 4th. Best wishes to all who are marking special occasions this week.
The Quyon Pastoral Charge is holding our annual Harvest Draw. This year, our prizes include a handmade throw blanket, crafted and donated by Mary-Ellen Young; five fruit pies, homemade and donated by Elizabeth Young; and a bountiful basket brimming with harvest goodies, donated by members of the congregation. If you are interested in tickets, please just let me know. The draw will be held on Oct. 26 at church.
The Toronto Blue Jays capped off an exceptional season on Sunday, claiming the American League Division title and they are heading to the playoffs. I am so excited to cheer them on. Let’s go Blue Jays!
