Deepest sympathy is extended to the family of Marie-Rose Chevrier, as she passed away on Sept. 5 at the age of 91. Our thoughts and prayers are with her loved ones at this sad time.

St. Mary’s Parish in Quyon celebrated their 176th anniversary with a special Mass on Friday, Sept. 12. Bishop Michael Brehl was the Chief Celebrant at Mass, and refreshments were served afterwards. Congratulations to St. Mary’s Parish on 176 wonderful years.
On Saturday, Sept. 13, family and friends gathered at the home of Doug and Isabel Schwartz to help them celebrate their 55th wedding anniversary. The crowd gathered in a beautiful tent set up outdoors, with wonderful music, food, and drinks for all to enjoy. Wishing Doug and Isabel all the best on this milestone occasion.

Don’t forget the Quyon Lions Club is hosting their annual ATV Run this coming Saturday, Sept. 20. The day begins at the Quyon Legion at 10 a.m., and will feature stops at the Shawville Arena, Scooter’s Bar & Grill, and the Campbell’s Bay Legion, before returning to the Legion for a pulled pork supper. Saturday night, Gavan’s Hotel will be hopping as they celebrate Halfway to St. Paddy’s Day with the band The Town Pants. They are such an amazing band; I have been a fan for many years, so I am looking forward to seeing them live in Quyon again.
The Quyon Legion will be celebrating National Legion Week from September 24 -27, 2025. There will be Bingo on the 24th, Appreciation Day on the 25th including a free barbecue, Trivia Night on the 26th, and a Washer Tournament on the 27th.
