I hope everyone enjoyed a wonderful Easter with their families. We started our Easter Sunday with a beautiful service at Wesley United Church, and there was a great crowd out to celebrate. It was so lovely to see such a big group of children in attendance, and they enjoyed an Easter Sunday School lesson and a fun egg hunt outside. Later that day, we had a delicious family dinner at my sister and brother-in-law’s, followed by watching the first game of the Sens vs. Leafs playoff series. The game didn’t go the way our Sens-loving family hoped, but we still had a terrific day, filled with yummy treats and many blessings.

Heartfelt condolences are with the family of Nicole Proulx Beaudoin, as she passed away on Apr. 13. We are thinking of her husband Norman, children Kathie, Krissie, Jennie, John, and all of her loved ones at this sad time.

Deepest sympathy is with the loved ones of Mike Boucher, as we were sorry to hear he passed on Apr. 15. Thoughts and prayers are with his wife Gail, daughter Kim, and all of his family and friends. Mike was well known in our community for his musical talent, his special touches at Kim and Gail’s store, Boutique Bronson, but above all, his love and devotion for his family. He will be dearly missed.

Birthday wishes are going out to Pryor Thomson on Apr. 25, and to Jennifer McBane on the 29th. Best wishes to all who are celebrating special occasions this week.

The Quyon Community Association has launched the Sesquicentennial Community Beautification Contest, which is a revamping of an initiative first undertaken back in 1975 during Quyon’s Centennial celebration. The contest is designed to inspire and encourage our community to enhance the beauty of our neighborhoods while promoting pride in our surroundings and celebrating our heritage. Whether you have a small garden, a spacious lawn, or a cozy porch, the QCA wants to see how you bring creativity, colour, and celebration of our 150th year to your outdoor space. The contest is open to all residents/businesses/property owners in the Municipality of Pontiac, with fantastic prizes to be won. Registration deadline is June 15th, 2025 and all entries must be submitted by Aug. 17, with the winners announced Sept. 6 during their Community Day celebration. For more details, or to register for the contest, you can check out the QCA’s Facebook page or email them at: Quyonca@yahoo.com. Let’s make this town shine with beauty, creativity, and 150th pride!
