This past Saturday evening, Gavan’s Hotel hosted a reunion show of epic proportions, as Ambush and Gail Gavan took the stage together for the first time in 25 years. What a fun night it was. There was a great crowd out, and the dance floor was full from the very first song to the very last encore. It was a big night of birthday celebrations, as both Mark from Ambush and Gail have birthdays during the month of April, and they were encouraging anyone in attendance with a birthday this month to celebrate with them. The band was awesome and everyone had a fantastic time. A big shout out to Gavan’s and the staff for bringing these big live music events to their stage in Quyon. We are loving it.
Belated birthday wishes are going out to Jasper Hamilton, as he turned 4 on Apr. 5.
Happy Birthday to Hazel Bourgeau on Apr. 10, from her sisters Stella, Norma, and Shirley.
We also have birthday wishes going out to Vera Meredith on the 12th and to Cecile Dumont on the 13th.
Our family is sending lots of birthday love to my mom, Elizabeth Young, and to my uncle Paul Lucas, both celebrating on the 13th .
Birthday wishes are also going out to Jackie McBane on the 14th , and to Andrea Young on the 15th .
On Saturday, the Pontiac Lions took up a large chunk of the Canadian Tire Centre, as players and their families were in attendance to watch the Ottawa Senators take on the defending Stanley Cup Champions, the Florida Panthers. It was an extra special day for my nephew Noah, as he not only celebrated his 10th birthday the day before, but he also got one of the seats riding the “Fanboni” between periods. It was very kind of Colton and Noah Hines, who had the idea of giving up Colton’s seat to a younger player, and chose our Noah. Noah Hines understands the challenges of being a young hockey player with Type 1 diabetes, and it was so thoughtful of him to choose another recently diagnosed T1 warrior to take this fun ride at the Sens game. They are truly wonderful young men, and it made Noah’s birthday weekend that much more special. Of course, the Sens took home a shut-out win, inching them closer to clinching a playoff spot, which was the icing on the cake.
