Last Tuesday was Valentine’s Day, and the highlight of my day was the amazing take-out lasagna dinner hosted by the Quyon Legion. We enjoyed a delicious meal at home. They thought of everything, right down to the festive napkins and cutlery. Kudos to the Legion for putting this together, it was super.
On Friday evening, Clarendon Street Café was packed for the inaugural Trivia Night hosted by the Quyon Community Association. There were 12 teams of four there to compete. I think I speak for all of us when I say what a fantastic night it was. There were many laughs, a few groans and plenty of friendly competition as we worked through five rounds of trivia with each round growing progressively more difficult. Between each round, we were treated to courses of a delicious lasagna dinner served up by the wonderful staff at the Café. Several door prizes were also drawn during the evening. In the end, despite fierce competition, my team, Chris and The Youngsters ended up at the top of the leader board. Rather than trophies, we received a hand-made bird feeder crafted out of a gourd made by committee member Laura Stewart. We had such a fun night and I am already looking forward to the next one. Well done to the QCA on hosting such a successful night of trivia.
Our sympathy to the family of Evelyn Leach who passed away on Feb. 12 at the age of 84. She was the loving sister of Isabelle Leach (Emmerson), Rose Hamilton and Leona Murdock. Thoughts and prayers are with them at this sad time.
Big birthday wishes are going out to Tanner Belland who is celebrating today. We also have birthday wishes going out to Isaac Côté on Feb 23, to Sara McCann-Richardson on Feb. 24 and to Dryden Frobel on Feb. 25. Happy second birthday to Maeve Fraser who celebrates on Feb. 28. Best wishes to all who are celebrating this week.
