Congratulations to Lindsay Hamilton and Ryan Woermke who welcomed a beautiful baby girl on Feb. 11. Elaine (Lainey) Emily Dawn arrived safely and is a new, little sister for Sam. Lainey is named after her 100-year-old great-great-aunt, Elaine Hamilton Mohr Bronson. Best wishes to the whole family with their adorable bundle of joy.
A Stag and Doe was held at the Quyon Legion on Saturday night in honour of Shane Powell and Ashley Baker. A big crowd of family and friends were out to celebrate with the happy couple, as they will be heading to Punta Cana soon to tie the knot. Wishing Shane and Ashley all the best.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the family of Claire Roy on her recent passing. Our thoughts are with you as you grieve this loss.

Condolences are going out to Donna Provost and her family, as her brother Michael Morrow passed away on Saturday after a battle with cancer. Prayers are with you at this sad time.
The annual Old Sled Run is happening Feb. 18. The vintage snowmobiles will be departing Constance Bay and parading over to Gavan’s Hotel late Sunday morning, where they will be on display for snowmobile enthusiasts to enjoy. Awards will be presented in the afternoon at the Legion in Constance Bay. It is a great opportunity to check out the vintage sleds in Quyon.
Happy Birthday to Kira Stanley on Feb. 13 and to Brian Young celebrating on Feb. 14. Happy days to everyone celebrating this week.
I’d like to say hello to Bob Steele out in Calgary as I enjoyed reading his letter to the editor in last week’s edition of THE EQUITY. We have exchanged emails in the past, and it’s always nice to hear from former Quyon folks who still enjoy keeping up on local news. Hope you are well Bob.
With Lent beginning this week, I’ve been giving a great deal of thought as to what to give up this year. I always enjoy the challenge of this Lenten practice. I think this year I’ll give up potato chips, as that is one of my favourite indulgences. Good luck to all of you who are joining me in giving something up for Lent.
I hope everyone has a sweet day spent with loved ones. Happy Valentine’s Day to all.
