The Quyon CWL held its monthly meeting the evening of June 11. This was the last meeting until September.
Following the reading of the previous meeting’s minutes the correspondence and treasurer’s reports were given.
The annual Rock-a-thon in late April was a great fundraiser. Thank you to participating members and their sponsors.
Our annual banquet was on May 6 was at Pine Lodge in Bristol. This is always a pleasant afternoon. The guest speaker was Mike McBane, a local historian who spoke of the history of the area, what was and what used to be.

Congratulations to Joan Desabrais on receiving the Maple Leaf Service pin at the banquet. Several years-in-membership pins were also given out.
CWL school bursaries have been sent to our schools — St. Mary’s and Onslow in town and Pontiac High in Shawville for a graduating student in each school. The recipient is decided by the school staff.
Parish children received the sacrament of Penance and First Communion on June 17 at St. Mary’s, a step in their christian lives.
Get well and sympathy cards are sent out in the community as needed.
