QUYON March 21, 2018
A boil water advisory is now in effect in Quyon after an electrical component of the water filtration plant malfunctioned.
The breakdown occurred in the overnight hours of March 15.
The system is still pumping out water, but it is untreated and unsafe for consumption.
As a result, water must be brought to a rolling boil for at least one minute.
The expectation is that the system will be down for about a week and a half.
Residents who are using tap water for drinking, brushing teeth, making ice cubes, and washing or cooking food must bring that water to a boil before using it.
Residents do not have to boil their water if they are using it to bathe or for laundry.
Updates will be posted on the municipality’s website and Facebook page.
