Congratulations to Morgan Scully and Brandon Fenton on the arrival of their first child on Aug. 21. They welcomed a baby girl named Aurora, and I hear both the new mom and baby are doing well. Best wishes to the whole family.
On Saturday, we attended a beautiful wedding at Starborn Farms in Bristol as Kenny Fleck and Jenna Rainey exchanged vows before their families and friends. The ceremony was followed by a delicious pig roast and buffet dinner and a great night on the dance floor. Kenny and Jenna are now honeymooning in Hawaii. We wish Mr. and Mrs. Fleck all the happiness in the world.
I was very sorry to hear of the sudden passing of my fellow social note writer from Ladysmith, Lillian Pasch. Deepest sympathies to her family and friends.
Thoughts are also with Edith Grant and her family on the loss of her sister, Suzanne Wallace, who passed away on Aug. 22.

This week, we have birthday wishes going out to little Kinley Conners on Aug. 29, to Dianne Leach on Aug. 31, to Stacy Johnston on Sept. 1, to Therese Provost-Demell on Sept. 2 and to Wendy Provost on Sept. 3. Happy days to everyone celebrating this week.
I’d like to give a little shout-out to my nephew, Caden Provost and his dad/coach Chris as their baseball team, the Aylmer Bulldogs, won their league championship last Friday evening over the Gatineau Patriots. The win sends them to the provincials this coming weekend in Montreal, Que. I know there are several other players on other teams with Pontiac ties also heading to the provincials and we wish all of them good luck.
The summer just seemed to fly by and it’s hard to believe it’s already time for back to school. We hope all of the students, teachers and staff have a great year.
The end of the summer is also marked by a very big event coming up this weekend, as we all look forward to the Shawville Fair. There is so much to do for both young and old and I can’t wait to spend the long weekend there. Wishing everyone a safe and happy fair weekend.
