A Fort Coulonge couple welcomed the first newborn of the year at the Pontiac Hospital last Thursday morning.
Milya Lachance-Delisle was brought into the world via C-section, showing up just in time for breakfast at 8:47 a.m., and weighing 6.1 lbs.

Parents Stephanie Lachance and Maxime Delisle, having their first birth at the Pontiac Hospital, said the experience was much more personal compared to the city.
“It’s pretty much luxury, compared to other hospitals,” said Lachance, of the privacy and attention they were afforded during and after delivery. “It was our first experience here and I liked it.”
The couple wanted to thank Dr. Nicholas Sperduto and Dr. Yolette Bazile for their care and work during the pregnancy and birth.
