I’ve been thinking about perfection. One reason, is, I think, the little stray cat that lives with me. She’s a perfect cat. Oh I know, she drinks water with her paw, then walks in her litter box and makes little white paw prints everywhere, and yes, she wastes the end of every dish of food I give her so that I have to throw lots of it away. I could say more but, I still see her as a perfect little cat. Why?
I think when you love something or someone, you see them differently, not for what they do or don’t do. Somehow love transforms everything it touches. Of course, we fail to love as we should, but, when we say yes to Him, God teaches us how to love. He says, love the Lord Your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength, Deut. 6:5, and when we do, everything we look at can, and will begin to be transformed. By His power, others’ faults and shortcomings are laid aside. He even gives us the power to forgive. That’s when we live free and really learn to love.
