Otter Lake’s 50-plus club hosted an evening of entertainment by an Elvis impersonator on Saturday night.
The singer came complete with slicked-back hair and shimmering apparel, and crooned Elvis’ greatest hits to the Otter Lake onlookers.
Club president Janet Lafleur said she saw the impersonator at a show in Stittsville and convinced him to come to Otter Lake for the show. She said “it’s the first time” the club has hosted an Elvis impersonator.
“It’s something a little different,” she said.
Lafleur said the 50-plus club is “very active” and that proceeds from the night will go toward future events such as an upcoming Halloween supper, as well as the club’s ongoing activities such as cards, darts and petanque.
“We had a great turnout and a super evening,” she said after the event.
The Otter Lake RA committee ran the bar, and Lafleur said all proceeds from that will go toward the construction of a roof over the community’s outdoor rink.
