Dear Editor
Am I correct in assuming that hogs cannot be slaughtered in Shawville’s new abattoir because of Muslim religious reasons? (THE EQUITY, Feb. 28)
If I was a hog and pork producer who grew up in the Pontiac, you mean to tell me that I cannot get my hogs slaughtered in Shawville because it is a Halal certified abattoir?
I find it hard to understand that Christians or anyone cannot slaughter their farm-raised pigs in Shawville’s new abattoir.
What is next, sacred cows being denied as well?
With all due respect, I find this whole project a farce.
