There was not an empty seat to be found in the gymnasium at Dr. S.E. McDowell Elementary School on Thursday, Dec. 21. Hundreds of proud parents, younger siblings, grandparents and friends gathered to enjoy the school’s annual Christmas production.
There were quite a few laughs as the students acted out the traditional Christmas story, while adding a bit of comedy into the mix.

One bit that got everyone chuckling was when Mary (played by Marissa Lang) asked Joseph (played by Emily Smith) why she left it up to a man to book a room in the inn.
Throughout the play, production was stopped, lights were turned on and two classes at a time would stand up to perform a Christmas carol that intertwined with the story. The students had practiced for weeks prior to the concert, and it was clear that they were excited to show off what they worked so hard on.
