Big Win: Vinton’s Marie-Josée Corriveau wins season 4 of Révolution

Natacha, who for years has been teaching her sister Marie-Josée to dance, said she was very proud and excited to see her win. “Her hard work and dedication has paid off, and her risk taking. She’s always been one of my most risk-taking dancers. Always willing to try my crazy ideas, so it’s pretty exciting,” she said.

Marie-Josée Corriveau, of Vinton, along with her dance partner, Jason Morel, competed in the finale of the hit TV show Révolution on Sunday night, and were crowned the winners, bringing home $100,000.

It was an intense final battle, with each of the top four competitors performing one dance before judges evaluated them and narrowed the competition down to two, who then needed to perform a second dance of the evening.

Corriveau and Morel chose to do a follow up dance from last weeks performance, where they danced a highly emotional and touching dance depicting domestic abuse. In Sundays sequel to that dance, Corriveau performed the entire dance with her eyes closed, trusting that Morel would not only perform his parts flawlessly, but also be placing her where she needed to be. They blew the judges and audience away and earned the highest score of the entire season, a whopping 96 points out of a possible 100.

After earning their spot in the final dance of the finals, they only had one more perfomance to do, competing against crunk dancer, Sunny Boisvert. They chose to dance their 45 second routine to the song “Black Betty”, a more upbeat song than their previous few had been. They began the dance by applying war paint to their face, before once again impressing the judges with their moves and connection, ensuring the win was theirs.

After it was announced that they won season four, Corriveau posted on her Instagram the following message “Words can not describe how I am feeling right now. Thank you all for being a part of it.” She then continues on thanking her sister Natacha for “making me the dancer I am today” and many others. She ended her post with saying “Thank you to my family, friends and supporters, and to my home town, the Pontiac. I could not have done it without you. I am truly blessed and fortunate.”
