Spiritual Growth By Esther Colpitts
I heard the rain beating on my roof in the night and groaned. It was not going to be a good walk. The morning brought wind and a light drizzle but we headed out! Watching my pup run and try to catch the rain made me smile. Even with the bad weather, when I see his delight, it all seems worth it.
Love makes me get up and go. Every mother will relate when she gets up in the night to hold and comfort her hungry infant. Every father will relate when he hears the alarm and fights the desire to stay in bed, heading out on a cold morning to provide for his family.
Love. It is not just a warm fuzzy feeling, although that can happen. Love is an action. Love means sacrifice and giving, which is what the author of love did two thousand years ago when He came to earth. The sinless man, God incarnate, walked on His broken earth and then gave up His life to redeem all who would believe. There is no greater love.
