SHAWVILLE
The first game on June 26 saw Young’s Appliance Repairs Inc. Royals win 6 – 1 against the Bristolview Athletics. The winning pitcher was Matt Greer, who also scored a homerun, while the loss went to Jeff Tanguay.
The following game that evening saw the Tubman Autobody Twins double up Gannon/Blackburn Electric Inc. Bucks with a score of 13 – 6. The winning pitcher was Todd Hearty and losing was James O’Brien. Homeruns were hit by Hearty and Marc Levigne who also chalked up four RBIs.
July 3 games started with the Royal up against the Bucks, with the former winning 8 – 1.

“Andy Henderson got the train rolling for the Royals with a steal from second to third early on,” said Greer, who organizes the league, in an email. “Dillon Harrison, with the highlight stop at second and a quick flip back over to first to gain the out, almost had the Bucks back in the game. Big home runs for the Royals by Tim Thompson and Greer helped to seal the deal.”
The winning pitcher was Greer, with Lenny Burger taking the loss.
Next up that evening was the Trudeau Collision Brewers against the Athletics. Tanguay was the winning pitcher for the Athletics, with a score of 7 – 6, while Derek McColgan pitched for the Brewers.
“After being down 6 -0 after two innings the Athletics had a lot of work to do,” continued Greer. “Tanguay’s two run shot in the third played a big role in the momentum of the Athletics but it was Kaelen Ireland’s big shot to centre that gave them the winning run in the bottom of the seventh. Pressure isn’t a word that’s in his vocabulary.”

QUYON FLYERS
The Quyon Flyers lost their first game of the season on June 25, facing off against West Carleton Electric at the Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre, falling by a score of 7 – 6.
However, they made sure to rally after this loss, defeating the Stittsville 56ers 5 – 2 at a home game on June 28.
Still dominating the Greater Ottawa Fastball League’s standings, their next game will see them play Kars Aces at another home game on July 12.
