Kids were let loose shortly after 11 a.m. on March 31 to look high, low, and in the snow for the many Easter eggs hidden on the ball diamond and tennis court. From left, Riley and Jake Dupuis give each other a helping hand while on the hunt.
The Pontiac Lion’s Club organized the visit from the festive rabbit, making sure to provide snacks, drinks and hot dogs for all the kids after their hunt was over. Pictured, Garrett Kensley helps distribute snacks to the other kids following the egg hunt.
The Easter Bunny made an appearance in Campbell’s Bay on Saturday, even taking the time to hide eggs on the R.A. grounds for kids to uncover. Pictured, Keira Lewis takes her opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny in person on March 31.

The Easter Bunny made a late-morning appearance in Campbell’s Bay on Saturday, hiding eggs in the ball diamond and tennis court for young hunters to search out.
Descending on the Campbell’s Bay Recreation Association Hall, the Pontiac Lion’s Club brought the big bunny himself out for a visit with local children, in the group’s first Easter egg hunt.
“This was something brought up at our Lion’s Club meeting in order to get some recognition,” said club President Terry Frost.

First inviting families and kids to the R.A. Hall, kids were then turned loose outdoors in order to fill up their baskets.
With age brackets separated, allowing younger ones a better chance amongst themselves within the tennis court while older kids scoured the baseball field, excited children checked all over to make sure they didn’t miss anything.
Once everyone had a chance to fill at least some of their baskets, they returned to the hall for snacks, drinks, a hot dog lunch and some chocolate, to round out the fun. Joining the group again, of course, was the Easter Bunny, to help keep the party going through till the mid-afternoon.
“We’re just feeling it out this year, to see what’s going to work,” said Frost.
Frost continued to say that with the continued support of the community, the group hopes to host a Halloween event in the fall.
