Dear Editor,

We are writing a query in response to the aforementioned article written by Carole-St-Aubin and published in the Oct. 13, 2021 edition on page 1.

First, we had been under the impression that Hwy. 148 was under provincial jurisdiction and are therefore questioning why the Municipality of Pontiac would be purchasing speed cameras with municipal taxpayer monies.

We do reside on Hwy. 148 and are well aware of the high speeds at which the majority of motorists drive. However, we do question the reason for this purchase. We have not received any communication in either French or English from the municipality.

Perhaps another article on this subject would be of interest to many others as well.
