This summer is going by so quickly it is hard to believe it is the middle of August. In a couple of weeks it will be Shawville Fair times there are some signs of an early fall.
St. John’s Lutheran Church will be having their annual memorial service and supper on Aug. 27. We are starting to prepare for it. Check the coming events in THE EQUITY for more information.
My hip replacement surgery takes place the day after our church supper. I am hoping that I can still help work at the supper but it is now very difficult to walk and very painful. I actually live on pain pills.

The Thorne Fireman’s Ball was held last Saturday night and there was a good attendance. Everyone enjoyed the dance and a delicious lunch was served.
