The dinner and dance put on by the Golden Age Club last Saturday was well attended. The meal was made by the club and was delicious. Everyone enjoyed a great evening.
We had a nice day on Sunday and this week is supposed to be very nice but maybe with some rain. The snow will probably go down a lot. Hopefully there won’t be a lot of icy conditions. In about a week it will be the first of March and we can look forward to some nice weather. Someone was saying they were starting some vegetable plants indoors and that is a sign of spring.
Happy birthday to Jensen Hodgins on Feb. 22, to my sister Beulah Grife of Rankin, Ont., Phillip Atkinson and Billy Dagg who all celebrate on Feb. 23 and to Betty Cameron on Feb. 27.
Winnifred and Gerald Mielke are starting to find deer carcasses near their place on the side hills of deer eaten by the wolves. Last week they found two and probably three because they were really howling as they usually do after they get one. Gerald was also saying that there was nothing left on the carcasses and there was one small one with just a little of the hide left. They also see a lot of birds flying around so I guess they feed on them as well.
My sister Beulah Grife came to stay with us last Wednesday for about a week. We had a terrible experience on Sunday when she passed out for about one minute. We called the ambulance and they were here in 15 minutes and took her to the hospital. On Monday, I was waiting for the doctor to call while I was writing this column. She had blood work and a scan done. They said on Sunday that depending on what it was maybe she could come home Monday. We sure hope it isn’t anything serious.
