Bantam A Lions
The Lions opened the best of three series against Aylmer Iceberg on Saturday in Shawville with a 3-1 win. Goal scorers were Harry-Lukas Hitz with two and Carson Rusenstrom with one. Ryan Lang and Ethan Queale each had two assists and Bryan Tubman one. On Sunday, they played game two in Aylmer. It was a hard fought game with Aylmer winning 3-2. Harry-Lukas Hitz and Ray Durocher scored for Lions. Game three is scheduled for March 20 at 7 p.m. in Shawville.
Atom A Lions
The Lions played the Aylmer Icebergs in Shawville on March 13 to a 6-0 victory. Gavin Rusenstrom led the way with four goals; Paige Dubeau and Liam Queale rounded out the scoring. Assists went to Liam Queale, Garrett Rusenstrom. Cade Kuehl and Andrew Kavanagh. They advanced to the semi-finals against Maniwaki.

On March 17 they played Maniwaki in Masham losing 3-1. Goal scorer was Liam Queale assisted by Cade Kuehl. Game two was also played on Saturday in Shawville. Lions won 4-1. Goal scorers were Garrett Ruesenstrom with two and Will O’Malley and Paige Dubeau one each. Assists went to Liam Queale with three, Noah Oliveira with two and James Twolan and Gavin Rusenstrom with one each.
With the series tied at two a piece they travelled to Maniwaki on Sunday for the final game. Down 2-1 with two minutes to play Liam Queale tied the game sending it to overtime. Liam Queale scored the winner at the 1:52 mark in overtime. Gavin Rusenstrom scored the other goal. Kudos to goaltenders Bennett Ruesnstrom and Jaxson Armstrong for great goaltending.
Next series starts Friday night at 6:30 p.m. at Baribeau arena in Gatineau.
