These three incredible women were all born at Starks Corner and began their educational journey together 85 years ago at the little two-room schoolhouse in their hometown.
Recently, Jean traveled from Bon Accord, Alta. to visit family and reconnect with her dear childhood friends, Faye and Lillian. They gathered for lunch at Lillian’s home in Ottawa, sharing laughter and memories from their schooldays, families, and lives well lived.
Their early teachers were remembered fondly, Joyce Findlay, Mary Belsher and Lillian Dean. In grade 8, they moved to Victoria Avenue High School in Shawville where their friendship continued.
All three turn 91 this year and are enjoying relatively good health. While they may move a little slower, their minds remain sharp and their spirits strong.
A special thank you to Faye for organizing this heartfelt reunion.
Everyone agreed – it was a truly wonderful day!
