I planted Zinnia seeds in the front of my house last year. They are an annual, so when I noticed them growing this spring, I was surprised. They aren’t supposed to do that, but they did. It was a pleasant unexpected surprise.

Sometimes though, surprises come that are not so pleasant. Then what do we do? We have choices, sometimes hard ones. How will we respond when it doesn’t go well? A friend closes the door to your relationship. Someone says unkind words. It can hurt. Jesus has made it clear what we must do. Forgive and then give the pain to Him. Easier said than done, but it is the only way peace and freedom can come. When we follow what the Lord says we can be reconciled to God and each other. His way is best!
