Dear Editor,
Excuse me for protesting,
but I have little else to do.
I do not condone unnecessary destruction
of local businesses.
I’m not allowed to buy shoes or clothes,
but I can protest.
I’m not allowed to get nails or hair done,
but I can protest.
I do not condone . . .
unnecessary destruction
of the family unit.
I’m not allowed to visit my children,
but I can protest.
I’m not allowed to hug my grandchildren,
but I can protest.
I do not condone the destruction
of our mental health.
I’m not allowed exercise classes or dancing,
but I can protest.
I’m not allowed church or singing,
but I can protest.
All this for a virus that has a high
recovery rate for most people.
Some may call me names, mock me, malign me,
I will not change my opinion that this is insanity on steroids.
So excuse me for protesting,
but I have little else to do.
