Dear Editor,
Thank you Chris. I am so grateful that voices are starting to rise against this insanity of changing our clocks back and forth throughout the year. Why do we ignore the natural patterns of daylight and nighttime? Let’s work within those. If folks want the extra evening daylight, then let’s just stick to that. Days are short in the winter no matter how you cut it. So if we’re going to be in the dark in the morning or the evening in winter, let’s just live with it.
I’m happy to report that the Sunday following the time change was not a problem in our congregation this year. Not a single person appeared at the church doors after the service let out. And I’m particularly grateful that no one was nodding off in the pews. But let’s put an end to this arbitrary back and forthing. Thanks for making this point so eloquently in your editorial.
