The Fall Painting and Creating Workshop was a big success in Ladysmith on Tuesday, as the event sold out in two days. From left, Andrea Dunn, Cheryl Schock and Laurel Schock paint away to design their custom clocks.
The group was comprised of mostly first-timers to the workshop, according to Lori Sheppard. Pictured, Linda Dorzek, one of those newcomers, registered because she had seen the crafts all done up and knew she needed a new clock, anyways.

A workshop was held at the TCRA Building on Saturday, allowing locals to get crafty and design a huge clock, all their own.
Organized by Country Creations and Crafts, as well as Schocking Creations, the Fall Painting and Creating Workshop had sold out within a few days and made for some busy hands come Saturday afternoon.

Those who attended were provided a range of options in colours for their clocks, and provided with stencils of a quote or design they wanted to include on the face.
Lori Sheppard of Country Creations and Crafts said that the workshops are a fun way to help others make something that they’ll be proud of.
“We make sure they leave with something that they love,” said Sheppard. “If it takes three hours longer, then we’ll stay.”
This workshop sold out in two days, according to Sheri-Lyn Schock, marking it as one of the more popular events the group has put on. They originally made clocks at the June workshop, but because of the popularity, decided it could be done again.
Even with the repeat craft, they’ve still had to add another date to their workshop.
“This one’s really popular,” said Schock. “So, we added one for next month, on Oct. 14.”
Registration is open until Oct. 11, or the class fills up. The workshop is $125 for the rustic farmhouse clock or $65 for the rustic farmhouse ladder.
