Well, it is a busy time. There are Christmas markets, Christmas dinners, Christmas gatherings and the list goes on and on.
John Paul II School held their Christmas event on Saturday and from what I have heard it was very nice. There were lots of vendors and a bake sale as well. It was a good time to buy baked goods. I can never attend these events as I work Saturdays so I depend on people letting me know how they went.
I guess the snow will stay now so we must adjust.

We attended the Festival of Lights in Niagara Falls, Ont. last weekend. That is the place to go if you want to see displays of Christmas lights. It is amazing. While there we also took in four shows of different entertainers. One group to be watched for are called Under the Lamp Post. They do 1970s and 1980s rock and roll and were terrific. They are former entertainers from the play “Jersey Boys” and when the play ended they formed this group. They are four men all dressed up in shiny suits singing and dancing and they were great. One did a rendition of “Ave Maria” all in Latin. It could make you cry, it was so beautiful.
There is a new venture started in Campbell’s Bay by Anne Morin Hampel. She owns the family homestead that was also known as the Campbell House. She has two rooms for rent through Airbnb so we wish her luck with this good idea. You can find her on the airbnb.ca website under the name La Maison Campbell. Could be very interesting for tourists in the summer, as this house has a beautiful view of the Ottawa river.
Father Christian expressed at mass how happy he is to be in Campbell’s Bay. He feels very welcome here and in his words “like he really belongs.” People are inviting him for meals, calling him to see if he needs anything and if he is warm enough. He is a delightful man. It’s the Christian way, what can we say?
Sister Cecile Menard remains in hospital. She had surgery last week so we hope that now she will recuperate. Eileen Morin is still hospitalized as well so we wish them the best of course.
Sad to report that David Brown had to return to hospital in Montreal. We wish him the best.
André Fortin held his annual Christmas breakfast in Shawville last Saturday morning and it was very well attended.
My cat still can’t meow and even the vet did not know why. Sad, she can’t tell us what she wants now, because she did have a way of communicating when she had a voice.
Well, I guess that about does it. If any of you have news you can relate it to me, I will be glad to pass it along. Now to everyone celebrating we wish you a happy birthday and happy anniversary and to all not feeling well we wish you a speedy return to health. To those not feeling the Christmas spirit yet, maybe this week it will come.
