We have grass and a fountain and everything is going well. We will have a new park for the Summer Festival. Surely the person who has been taking a shortcut through there on the new grass with their car will realize it is not a drive through. We have streets to drive on and sidewalks to walk on. Some individuals have been working very hard at this and we need to respect it. It will be there for everyone to enjoy.
It has been a quiet week but we did see some strangers around.
Eileen Morin’s grandson was visiting in town with his wife and daughters from South Carolina. I did not get his first name but he is the son of Connie and Graham Christie.
There has not been a lot of river traffic due to the weather and this past weekend was no exception.
Preparations are underway for the festival and there will be posters out soon. Saturday will be the exciting day with something for everyone. There will be things geared towards children, bingo and live music all day. Let’s do our best to support it and help our community projects.
St. John’s Church will be hosting their annual supper on Sept. 10. They will need good support as well. If anyone still doesn’t have a ticket on the beautiful quilt that will be drawn that day there are still some available. There will be items on special during the festival that could be checked out as well.
I can’t think of anything else so I want to wish everyone celebrating a happy birthday and a happy anniversary to the happy couple and good health to everyone as well.
We extend our sincere sympathies to Keith and Danielle Racine on the !oss of Danielle’s mother Mrs. Betty Francoeur from Fort Coulonge.
