Last Thursday saw a messy smack-up between a tractor trailer and a car on Hwy. 148, but luckily there were only non-life threatening injuries involved.
Occurring just outside of Quyon, before the intersection of chemin du Lac-des-Loups and Hwy. 148, the semi ended up in the ditch while the car saw the front driver’s side ripped off the vehicle.

The truck was forced to maneuver out of the car’s way when it veered into oncoming traffic, but could not do so in time. Fortunately, the tanker on the truck was full of water, rather than a combustible fluid.
The crash happened just before 8 p.m., closing the road for an investigation.
An ambulance was on-scene to transport the driver of the car to the Shawville hospital and the truck driver came out unscathed.
Speed, alcohol and texting were not involved and no charges will be laid.
