To Mr. Pierre Cormier, président du conseil d’administration
To Mr. Éric Rousseau, directeur général,
I fully support the efforts of the MRC de la Vallée-de-la-Gatineau in its objective to put an end to the supposed reorganization process of SOPFEU, that is to say the . . .
transfer of the regional management from Maniwaki to Abitibi.
A loss for this MRC and for the entire Outaouais region.
A major economic drain on one of the poorest MRCs in Quebec, which ranks 102nd out of 104 in the economic vitality index.
Where is the plan for this supposed reorganization? Where are the documents supporting this choice?
It has not even been demonstrated that this move will bring any benefit to SOPFEU.
Regardless of the level of government involved, we cannot remain insensitive to this situation. It is the economic future of a region that is at stake.
Nothing in SOPFEU’s approach can justify taking away from the Gatineau Valley and the Outaouais region one of the jewels of its regional pride and one of the components of its economic health.
