I heard a man speak about having a silly song running around in his head. Try as he might, it wouldn’t go away. But then he explained how to get the old song out. He said, “Sing another song, one you like, and it will replace the one you don’t like.
That got me thinking. Often we have random thoughts slip into our mind. They can bring fear or discouragement and, left to fester, will drag you down into a very negative place. Rather than dwelling on the thought, follow what God says will make a difference. It is found in Philippians 4:8 . . . whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, uwhatever is commendable, if there is anything excellent, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on these things. Good thoughts push out the old. There’s no room for both.
