Several traffic infractions were handed out during a one-day traffic blitz on highway 148 in Clarendon on Aug. 18.
More than 10 speeding infractions were handed out. One lead-footed driver was caught going 145 km/h in a 90 km/h zone. The driver’s license was automatically suspended for seven days and his vehicle was impounded.

Anyone caught going more than 140 km/h in a 90 km/h zone faces a $530 fine and 10 demerit points.
Vehicles can also be impounded if a vehicle is caught going more than 120 km/h in a 70 km/h zone.
Another vehicle was impounded by the police because the driver was operating the vehicle without any license plates.
Police want to remind drivers that speed is the most common cause of collisions in the province.
