Fiddlers Billy Brennan, Glenda Duff, Fredi Hungate, and Mike Fox got together with Dominic Darcy at Andrew Perrault’s on Friday afternoon. Great entertainment with a potluck dinner served to all.
On Saturday, the OFWCA invited CNL (AECL) to give update information to the summer residents who were not able to attend the other information meetings that were held in Sheenboro and around Renfrew County. I have attended the three in Sheenboro, including the CNSC information meeting (Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission) which was also held in Sheenboro. The CNSC are the ones who issue the license for these large corporations.
It was wonderful to see such a large turnout on Saturday. Many good points were brought forward for the CNL staff to clarify. It was well organized and a tip of the hat to Joann McCann who was able to keep the meeting in control. Hopefully the residents who were unable to attend the CNSC meeting on April 27 will continue to follow the CNSC on all updates to the CNL.
I would also like to thank the CNL staff for taking their time on the weekend to come down to Fort William. It was much appreciated and they did an amazing job answering questions on a subject of much concern to citizens.
Just a reminder, tickets are now on sale for the Rib Fest fundraiser held at Fort William on July 22. The proceeds will be going towards the dock.
