On Saturday morning, Larry and I and a few parishioners from Waltham attended the ordination into the priesthood of deacons for Justin Bertrand of Paroisee Ste-Anne, Isle-du-Grand Calumet, Stephen Helferty, of St. Michael’s Parish, Douglas, Anthony Burchat of St. Casimir Parish, Round Lake and Michael Lund of St. Andrew Parish, Kilaloe. His Excellency Bishop Michael Mulhall performed the sacrament assisted by fellow priests. Family and friends filled St. Columbkille Cathedral to witness this beautiful celebration. Congratulations is extended to Fr. Justin, Fr. Stephen, Fr. Anthony, and Fr. Michael. May Our Heavenly Father guide you and bless you in your life long journey.
On Saturday evening, Jaycie Henderson, daughter of Lindsay Harkins and Shawn Henderson received the sacrament of First Communion at our 7 p.m mass at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Church. Fr. Tom Fitzpatrick performed the sacrament. Congratulations Jaycie.
On Saturday and Sunday CDE Dance Academy in Pembroke held their dance recital. We took in Sunday’s performance. They all worked so hard this past year and they put on amazing performances. Hats off and thank you, to three dedicated teachers Miss Christine, Miss Dana and Miss Erin for working so tirelessly with these young people and encouraging them to believe in themselves. It is my belief that this desire for performance excellence is such an important builder of character. You can actually see these young performers growing in confidence as they refine and polish their routines over the years. A big thank you also to the parents and families who support and sacrifice their time to drive these young dancers to their lessons. It was also a very emotional time as some of the senior dancers had to bid farewell to their fellow dancers as they will be moving on to new challenges and adventures. We wish you nothing but the best in your future endeavors.
Congratulations to our granddaughter Isabella Gale, Nicole Duff and Heyleigh Degreer who made it to the Elite National Dance Team Love To Dance and will be performing at Disney World in Orlando, Florida the first week of July. They will be in work shops and also taking in many activities while they are there. It sound so exciting. Have a wonderful experience.
