What they don’t want you to know

Dear Editor,

What they don’t want you to know.

You hear this phrase bounced around on the internet and on the campaign trail; someone attempting to install anxiety over some deep state secret or UFO technology that they are keeping from us, in order to maintain control over the huddled masses (that’s us). I cry baloney on that. The big conspiracy is that those in positions of influence want people to fear what is unknown, while they pick our pockets and bend our minds, causing us to ignore what is before our eyes.

I’ll freely admit that the builders of Stonehenge and the pyramids knew something that we don’t currently know, but it’s not necessary to jump right to extraterrestrial beings. Humans can do marvellous works when they band together with a common purpose. That is the fleeting knowledge that older civilizations possessed, and we need only travel back a couple of generations to find this is true. Our grandparents worked and played in ways that are impossible to recreate in today’s society, with its many distractions.  When life is before you, and your muscle and brainpower are engaged, it matters little if the ancients received wisdom and technology from outer space.

What I wonder about is what future generations may speculate around the artifacts that we leave for them to ponder. We definitely had to have help from extraterrestrial super beings for us to putter around in metal canisters powered by fossil fuels, eh? How and why did we do that?
