The MRC Pontiac is inviting local organizations and stakeholders in the territory to participate in a new call for projects. The Support for Regional Outreach Program of the Fonds régions et ruralité (FRR) provides financial assistance to . . .

eligible businesses in the region. To be eligible, businesses must have a regional scope and follow at least one of five of the MRC’s listed priorities which include:

• Catching up with the region’s historical backlog in health and social services, education and economic development.

• Foster strong and sustainable community development based on solidarity and a strong link between rural and urban areas.

• Build a strong regional identity.

• Foster resilience to climate change by ensuring sustainable development.

• Develop the economy and improve the competitive position with respect to the border situation through innovation and diversification.

“I encourage organizations and stakeholders in the Pontiac to take advantage of this funding opportunity offered through Component 1 of the Regions and Rurality Fund,” said MRC Pontiac warden Jane Toller in a press release. “To continue our progress with the revitalization of the Pontiac, it is so important to put forward projects that will contribute to the growth and development of our region.”
