The Fort Coulonge Midget B Comets cruised to victory in a dominant performance from start to finish as they defeated the visiting Pembroke Lumber Kings 7-0 in a fiery affair.

The Comets opened . . .

the scoring with just over five minutes left in the first period on a goal from Antoine Durocher, who scored to goals and added a helper for a three-point night.

With just over two minutes to go in the first frame, Maxim Asselin gave the Comets an insurance marker as the team took a 2-0 lead into the second period.

A scrappy second period forced the Comets to kill off five penalties but goalie Zachary Dubé stood strong and maintained the round number on the scoreboard.

While the Comets filled the penalty box in the second period, so too did the Lumber Kings who took four penalties.

In between killing penalties, the Comets managed two goals in the second frame from Sébastien Duval and Durocher’s second of the night.

While the Comets were able to regain composure in the third and continue to pour on the offense, the frustration of the Pembroke players was obvious with the team taking four more penalties in the period.
