Dear Editor,
On Jan. 29, 33 families applied for Pre-K education at Dr. S. E. McDowell School in Shawville. Half of these families are told that there isn’t space for their child. Government funding only . . .
pays for 17 children for the new school year 2020/2021 starting in the fall. Once again funding for our community is falling short.
Affordable Internet for all? Haven’t seen that yet. Our wonderful hospital? We need more staff. Now our school? Funding for only half of our children? We need better.
New businesses, events and workshops are starting in our community. We need money invested back into our community. The future of our community is our children. Our school needs more funding.
