The St. Alphonsus’ CWL has been busy. Summer and fall kept the CWL quite busy. Parish supper involves . . .
everyone, including our members who are able to help.
The card parties from October through December are our responsibility. Attendance has been good for this unpredictable time of year. Thank you to those faithful card players, as well as all those who have contributed in providing prizes.
The annual November craft sale and chicken pot pie luncheon was very successful once again. The shoppers had a wide variety of craft and food tables to visit (26 in all). The chicken potpie is always a sell out. The 50/50 winner was Bert Collin who now has an extra $131 to spend.
The Remembrance Day ceremony was held at St. Joseph’s this year. Our wreath was among those placed in honoring our veterans, the fallen and the present day troops.
Christmas cards are in the mail to our seniors and shut-ins.
Many are taking part in the Eucharistic Adoration Program at church on Tuesday and Wednesday.
The annual Christmas Party was held on Dec. 10 and our Money Tree donations will be sent to Bouffe Pontiac this year.
Our yearly commitments will be booked in the new year. Top of the list is sponsoring a night of free skating for those enthusiastic youngsters.
Card parties are scheduled in January and February for our Peruvian child and Coady Institute.
May you have the gift of joy,
The blessing of hope,
And the peace of His love
At Christmas and always.
