Pontiac Midget A LionsThe Pontiac Midget A Lions had two games this past weekend, both at home at the Shawville Community Centre.
The first game . . .
was Saturday at 3:30 p.m. against the Gatineau Patriotes. Shawville came away with a 2-0 loss.The second game was Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Shawville Community Center against the Aylmer Eclairs. It was a fast game with both teams getting chances early on.
The Lions scored first with a shot from the point by Connor Gilpin assisted by Hunter Lukacs-Hitz. Then at the 3:43 mark of the second period, with some great passing by the Lions, Ethan Queale scored. He was assisted by Carson Rusenstrom and Bryan Tubman.
At the 8:15 mark of the second period Aylmer scored to make it 2-1. Now going into the third period with a 2-1 lead, the Lions rallied fast, with their third goal of the game at the 1:06 mark. Goal was scored by Carson Rusenstrom assisted by Bryan Tubman and Connor Gilpin.
At the 3:32 mark of the third Bryan Tubman scored on the break away unassisted. With the strong performance in net by Kaelan Ireland giving the Lions a 4-1 win.
Next home game is Oct. 27 at 3:30 p.m. Come out and cheer on the Lions.
