The Northern Old Bastards Vintage Motorcycle Club held their 12th annual Show and Shine on Sunday, seeing over 300 bikes turn up at the Ladysmith Hotel. The parking lot was mostly full all day, as club members, supporters and fans rode in from across the Pontiac, Ottawa Valley, and different parts of Quebec and Ontario.

The free event drew in motorcycle fans of all ages. Pictured, 5-year-old Desmond Richard enjoyed his first taste of hopping aboard various bikes.

The Ladysmith Hotel’s favourite bikers returned en masse over the weekend, filling the town with all sorts of Old Bastards as the annual bike show took place.
Celebrating the Northern Old Bastards Vintage Motorcycle Club Show and Shine, upwards of 300 motorcycles and their riders arrived throughout the day for 12th annual iteration of the event.
“As you can see, the parking lot is full,” said Northern Old Bastards Vice President Stuart MacFarlane, as he looked around the parking lot.
With the support of Ernie and Cathy Pasch, the owners of the Ladysmith Hotel, the entire show is free. Guests are welcome to browse the bikes all around the property and come as they please. The restaurant owners even provide most of the trophies for the judging competition, for the various decade categories.

Every year, motorcycles are entered and judged depending on their year of release. As well, there are four special prizes, also donated by the community.
Rounding out the fun was live music from local bands Beyond Driven and Abstract, as well as plenty of support from the other Old Bastards chapters.
MacFarlane was proud to continue holding the event in Ladysmith and was even prouder of the event being completely free.
“You don’t have to spend a penny,” added MacFarlane. “Ernie’s hoping you’ll stay for a beer.”
MacFarlane said that the support of establishments like the Ladysmith Hotel and all their other donors allows them to focus of donating their money to helping others across the Pontiac and Ottawa Valley. He highlighted that $4,000 was donated this year, across 15 food banks and hospitals in those areas.
“You got to have the owners of an establishment who are willing to do this,” continued MacFarlane. “They make sure it’s free every year.”
