The MRC Pontiac Economic Development Director, Émilie Chazelas, resigned on May 28.
Chazelas had been on the job since January of 2017 but has been a fixture in the Pontiac business community for the better part of a decade.
She previously held posts with the CLD and the CDE, which were precursors to the SADC.
“Émilie is leaving her mark on the Regional Art collection permanently on display on MRC premises, a project she has overseen for the last 10 years,” said MRC Pontiac Director General, Bernard Roy.
Chazelas arrived in the Pontiac in 2007 from Limiges, France and plans to stay in the region.
“I am leaving people and a job that I really enjoy,” Chazelas said in a press release. “But I am not leaving my new home county. My goal is to involve myself differently into the development of the Pontiac.”
The MRC issued the job posting for the Economic Development Director on June 1.
Until a replacement is hired, the role will be filled by Roy and Assistant Director General Gabrielle Lance.
