The WeAct Club at Dr. S.E. McDowell Elementary School in Shawville raised $2,100 for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario (CHEO), through a day of silence on May 1. The group of about 20 students, led by teachers Maureen Levesque and Sarah Lavoie, meets weekly and supports various causes locally and around the globe.
