The Outaouais region is set to get more than $16 million from the Quebec government to distribute to local school boards.
The $16.6 million will be distributed amongst the five school boards in the region and the Western Quebec School Board (WQSB) is eligible for nearly $4 million.
The WQSB will be undertaking 11 different projects in seven different schools in the region.

Locally, Dr. S.E. MacDowell School will get $779,186 to renovate the exterior and interior walls as well as the ceilings and doors.
St. John’s Elementary in Campbell’s Bay will get $462,611 to renovate washrooms.
Ecole Notre-Dame-du-Sacré-Coeur in Chapeau will get $150,000 to fix the building’s facades.
École Poupore in Fort Coulonge will get $365,000 to renovate walls, ceilings and floors.
