Our condolences and deepest sympathies go out to Marilyn and the Jennings families on the passing of Jack Jennings of Ottawa, Ont. a summer resident of Sheenboro. The funeral service took place on Monday at St. Paul the Hermit Church in Sheenboro.
Belated birthday greetings go out to Kempton Smith of Nichabau who celebrated his 85th on March 16.
Birthday wishes are sent out to Wilma Gagnon Picard on March 19, Marie Paul Muldoon on March 23 and Élaine Rochon on March 24. Hope you all have a wonderful day.
Congratulations go out to Simon Donato and wife Chanelle on the birth of their son Leo on March 17 in Florida.

Congratulations also go out to Amanda Bellamy and Jeff Rodger of Barrie Ont. on the birth of another St. Paddy’s Day baby, Hadley Reese. Proud great-grandmother is Norma Ranger of Chichester.
Pontiac Ouest Fire Services and the Chapeau and District Lions Club will be hosting a fish fry with homemade fries starting at 4 p.m. on Good Friday. For more information contact Fire Chief Glyn Fleury or stop by the Fire Hall to purchase your ticket. Purchasing in advance would be much appreciated.
Destination Imagination fundraising for the Students of DWKS, who took gold in our region and are now moving on to the global finals in Tennessee, was kicked off at George’s Bar in Chichester on St. Patrick’s Day. Two support workers from DWKS, Kerry Tallon and Brittany Goldberg, were on hand to collect the donations. John Brennan of Sheenboro donated a night’s stay at the cabin on Brennan’s Bluff. A donation to this worthy cause will give you a chance to win this beautiful scenic stay on the Bluff. The students still have a long way to go to meet their goal but I believe they are off to a great start with a generous crowd who were celebrating St. Paddy’s Day at George’s Bar.
Congratulations to the Fort Coulonge Comets who won the league cup and also won their final tournament on the weekend in Ottawa. Pontiac West has five players playing for the Comets, Brody Meehan of Sheenboro, Andrew Gaudette, Cole Venasse and Brody Fleury of Chichester and Ryan Carroll of Allumette Island. “Tip of the hat” to all the Comet players.
