Congratulations to Kendra Kearns and Travis Johnston, who were married on Saturday at St. Mary’s Church in Quyon. A celebration with family and friends followed the ceremony at the Jack Graham Community Centre in Bristol. Wishing them all the best as they begin this next chapter together as husband and wife.
Best wishes are also going out to Kristen Stanley and Kyle Timpson who exchanged vows on Sunday. They are off to Mexico to celebrate their marriage. Congratulations to the happy couple.
Many happy returns to Jill McBane who retired from her position at Frontline Credit Union last Friday. Jill’s next endeavour will be opening her Boutique Shawville Shooz in the near future. I look forward to visiting the store once she opens. Wishing her the best of luck with her new business venture.

We got a nice little dumping of snow over the weekend which was good news for the snow enthusiasts in our area. The snowmobile trails were really buzzing. It was also perfect weather on Saturday night for the moonlit ski and snowshoe event that Ski Pontiac hosted at Pine Lodge. There was a great crowd out to enjoy the beautiful torch-lit trails and spend time in the snow with family and friends. Kudos to Ski Pontiac for their work in maintaining the trails and for putting on these wonderful winter activities.
Birthday wishes are going out to Sarah Michelle Davis on Feb. 7. I’d like to send special birthday wishes to my little cousin Grace Draper who turns five on Feb. 8. Happy birthday to Marie-Eve Provost also on Feb. 8 and to her son, Kane Flemming on Feb. 9. We also have birthday wishes going out to Barb Atwell celebrating on Feb. 12. Blessings to everyone celebrating this week.
It’s hard to believe that Lent is just around the corner. The Quyon Lions Club will once again be hosting the annual pancake supper on Feb. 13 at the Quyon Legion. It is always a delicious meal and a great opportunity to visit with neighbours. It is one of my very favourite traditional community events.
