A horse was killed after colliding with a car on Cochrane Road in Quyon early Friday morning.
MRC des Collines police responded to the scene after the call came in around 12:18 a.m.
The driver was unhurt, but the car was reported to have a significant amount of damage.
The driver was a 27-year-old woman from the area and the only person in the vehicle.
She was reported to have been in shock after the accident.
The woman attempted to brake but the impact was sudden.
The police said that the rural road does not have lights and that speed was not a cause of the crash.
